iMobile App: How to install and activate ICICI mobile banking app?

Do you have an ICICI bank account? And are you a fan of mobile banking?

Who isn’t? Most of us use mobile banking or internet banking for convenience.

And since, most of us have smartphones in our hands, mobile banking has become a lot more popular and easier.

The focus of this post (and the video) is to show you how to install and activate ICICI mobile banking app called the iMobile app.

As a first, you need to install the app on your smartphone. If you are an Android user, go to the Google Play Store and search for “ICICI mobile banking app“.

The official mobile banking app by ICICI is called the iMobile app. Upon searching, you will most likely see this app on top.

If you are an iPhone user, you will find the same app in your App store.

Go ahead and install it. Once you have installed the app, open it up!

Now you will be presented with two options:

1. I already have an account
2. I want to open a New account.

Now, since we are trying to activate mobile banking, you must be already having an account.

So click on option 1.

Now the very first thing you have to do is to activate your registered mobile number. To do so, click on the “Activate Now” button as shown below:

If you use only one SIM in your mobile phone, then automatically that number will be selected.

If you use dual sims, then you must select the SIM that represents the mobile number which is the same number that is registered with your ICICI bank account.

Once you select the right SIM, click on “Verify Mobile Number”.

The following screen will show a 90 seconds count down while your mobile number is being verified – this is done by the app where an SMS is sent from your mobile number.

If your current mobile number is exactly the same as your ICICI account’s registered mobile number, then activation will be successful in 90 seconds.

The next step is to choose the login method of your mobile banking in iMobile app.

You have three options here:

1. Fingerprint with 4 digit pin
2. 4 Digit login pin
3. Your internet banking user ID

Make a choice that will be easier for you to use the app as frequently as you can!

The choice should be convenient for you and as well as something that you can easily remember.

Now that you have set your login method, the next step is to authenticate your account.

For this, you will need to enter a few details from your ICICI ATM card. Keep the card handy.

At the back of your ICICI ATM card, you will see 16 boxes labelled A-P. And, each of those boxes will have 2 associated numbers with them.

In the iMobile app, you will be asked to type the numbers associated with any of the boxes in your ATM card.

For instance, in the example below, you see you are asked to enter numbers corresponding to the boxes E, G and K.

Once you have correctly entered the numbers by referring to your ICICI ATM card, click on Activate.

Now you will see the “Activation Done” pop up.

You will also see a message that for the first 24 hours, your transaction limit is Rs. 10000. You can change this limit later.

As a final step, you can enable fingerprint login option if you prefer logging in quickly and securely.

If your mobile phone has fingerprint lock, you can use the same.

Or, if you do not prefer to use fingerprint lock, click on No Thanks.

Now, your iMobile app is activated.

Using this app you can do quite some banking tasks like funds transfer, credit card bill payment, other bill payments, recharges and much more.

You can also perform QR code payments using this app.
